Feedsacks

This is a close-up of one of the feed sacks. It's too early to call my Mom but I believe she told me that some, like this, were made into simple tablecloths for a card table.Don't you love the fruit & scalloped border on this one?
More of the collection. If you look closely, you'll see that there are doubles of some of the feedsacks.I wonder what projects they were being saved for? Great Grandma J.was the quilter in the family, but as far as I can tell ,feedsacks were not used in her quilts .

Don't you love these blues??? The colors are wonderful!! "Freda's Hive " is one of my favorite sites to visit. She is a talented & prolific quilter,as well as a generous hearted blogger ,sharing all about sewing & quilting ventures where she lives,as well as her daughters joining in with knitting things also. Last Friday she shared photos from her Shop Hop....I do alot of vicarious sight seeing at her hive!!She also makes patterns,is working on a Dear Jane quilt;had a trunk show, goes to quilt guild meetings!!!! If you want inspiration in your sewing/quilting,please check her out!!!

Oh my gosh I love the feedsacks so much. They are beautiful. Those blue and white ones are so great. Of course I love the fruit. Thanks for the nice compliments!
