This is what I get when I make Dan his birthday cake,even a few (!!!) days late.Starlight Cake recipe from the Bette Crocker Cookbook I entered marriage with. I couldn't even guess how many times I've made this over the years. Homemade cakes taste different,there's no weird coconut oil/preservative taste.Real tastes good.It's worth the effort,even tho' late this year ( we did have a grandbaby arrive in the midst!). And real chocolate frosting made with melted butter & unsweetened baking chocolate can't be beat! It's a winning combination! It's passed the test of time! It is ALWAYS Dan's choice!!! It's a good one,hon!

Ariana had her first visit to Grandma's house this evening to share in the festivities!
She also enjoyed another buggy ride to the neighbors!!


5o CANDLES???!!! I don't think so!!!!! How 'bout 1 BIG one instead?! I got those candy crunchy things you put on cakes-not bad.What I remember from childhood is a paper backed combination of glue & stale sugar that was really hard to eat...they've either improved things tremendously or my memory is really bad!!!

Sunday- a trip to "Beyond the Needle"-those are her shop samples-I wish I took more. I 've been getting some sewing & cutting out done in snatches of time here & there. Dan & I had a nice lunch out & a great relaxing drive.
